Foster homes are invaluable. They provide the love, socialization physical safety and shelter for the animal. Noah's B'Ark North pays for the food and all medical expenses.
The foster parent learns the animal’s personality and temperament. They help socialize the animal with other animals, with people and with children. They then can help us match the pet with an appropriate home.
The foster parent must be able to transport the animal to and from our pet adoptions. Our pets are shown on Saturdays and Sundays at Rohnert Park PetsMart fro 12 — 4 p.m.. Foster parents are welcome and encouraged to stay during adoption hours and help find the best home for the pet. The pet may also stay at the clinic overnight during the weekend if that is more convenient for the foster parent.
The average time an animal is usually fostered is several weeks. However, it could be as little as a few days or as long as a few months. We prefer the animal remain in one foster home until it finds a permanent home. We realize this is not always possible. Foster parents have the right to discontinue fostering at any time for any reason.
The foster parent accepts that Noah's B'Ark is not, and cannot, be held responsible for damage or harm the foster pet causes when not in our care. This is the responsibility of the foster parent. Do not let the pet off-leash outside unless in a safe fenced area. Exercise care in seeing that the pet does not do damage or harm.
